Default 6.0 powerstroke fuel pump

I have an 03 6.0 powerstroke, with 147k,fresh oil change, fresh fuel filters, blue spring upgrade, 8 new injectors @ 131k, new ICP sensor @ 131k. Performance mods are, 5" turbo back exhaust, Cold Air Intake and an Edge programmer. The truck died on me in traffic the other day, turned over fine, fried up after a while but would die even with my foot on the accelerator. The engine sounded starved for fuel or air almost choked. Had it towed to the Ford dealership because it was closer than my technician an hour away. The dealership told me the next day i have a bad fuel pump, 4 bad injectors that have dry fired, a dirty de-gas bottle and the fuel pressure was only at 30 psi. After running all this through my head and talking to my tech, I asked the dealership the price for just a fuel pump. I also asked that the truck not be started until i had eyes on it and could see what codes were reading and which injectors were bad. The response I got was "so you don't trust us, is that right?" I then said $3800 is a lot of money not to mention that's what I paid for 8 injectors last May. I was told the truck is a money pit, I was told that the fuel pump alone WILL NOT FIX MY TRUCK. So here's my argument. If the injectors are NOT receiving the correct fuel pressure from the pump and the truck will not run how do they know I have 4 bad injectors???!! How do they know the injectors have been dry fired? It was $179 for them to tell me that. If someone could PLEASE help me I would be forever grateful.

It's easy to put fuel pressure gauge on filter housing and see what actual pressure is. That is where I would start and pull edge until you have truck back to good. I have heard so much bad that I'm afraid of the edge. That could be the biggest problem if you have good fuel pressure. My truck ran with ad2 dead, no pressure. . Good enough that I thought it was bad filters.

Right now the truck is at the dealership and prior to all this I was running the programmer on economy. Do you think Ford will replace the injectors even if I'm over the mileage for the warranty but still within the 12 months? I was told that even if I was within the mileage it wouldn't be covered because the fuel pump caused the failure of the injectors.

I would be skeptical only because you have 8 injectors feeding off same fuel supply. If four are bad how did they determine that. If all four are on same side you could have ficm issue or other problem. If you trust" your tech" I would have truck towed there. If he installed your injectors he will be best to determine if he can get you warrantied.

I asked the dealership how they came to the conclusion of the injectors being bad and they said the truck was showing the codes for 4 bad injectors and the injectors had been dry fired. This is without the motor being opened up and with a truck that will not run. I just got off the phone with Ford Motor Co and they are forwarding my complaint to the Service Manager at the dealership. Keeping my fingers crossed because I do not want to pay out $3800 for injectors again.
