advice needed!!
i have a 2003 6.0 and has around 144,500 i just bought a few weeks ago, and i hear about all the problems with these but i ran the records at the dealer and there was no sign that the head studs or EGR delete was put on, should i be worried about the problems if nothing happened yet? and also if i put the EGR delete on before the head studs blew is there a more chance they would blow or no? my friend told me to come to this website for help, thanks for listing.
I would do a oil cooler rebuild and a EGR delete, the oil cooler will clogg and can cause all kinds of problems, add a coolant filter after the rebuild to keep the oil cooler from clogging again, with over 100k on the truck I guarantee the cooler is almost totally clogged now.
As they said SCT livewire TS with some custom tow tunes, Oil cooler, egr delete and coolant flush. No real need for the coolant filter after that many miles. I put one on mine at 140k after I did a coolant flush changed it 3k miles later cut the filter open found a little bit of sand not enough to change filter tho. I think a good flush should get majority the contaminates out.
