Question EGR delete question

Does anyone have a preferred method of doing an egr delete that "appears" to leaves the cooler in place but doesn't involve buying a delete kit?

Also I've heard that a mom and pop shop near me just welds freeze plugs in the ends of the cooler and reinstalls it. Would this be a viable option to consider or am I stuck buying a kit?

Thanks in advance!

A 2006 will throw a CEL if the EGR isn't tuned out. Otherwise weld up the EGR cooler, get the passenger side up-pipe scoop cut out at the same time. Enjoy being free from the "man"!!

Weld it up or buy the kit end result will be the same. Save some $$ and weld it just make sure you do a good job.

The scoop is easy to do with a torch or saw. If a shop is doing the weldingt hey can cut out the scoop.

i did my EGR delete on my 6.0 and it was pretty self explanatory i took the old cooler out and did the full delete well worth it. Worst part of the whole project is aligning the passer side up/pipe delete pipe and the turbo, pain in the *** but a ratchet strap and something solid will fix that. good luck on whatever rout you go
