Wire harness confusion?!
Ok I bought a wire harness for my truck in my sig. The international part number showing on my trucks harness is 1844137c93 and the international part number on the new harness is 1844137c97. I ordered the harness using the ford number for an 04. The problem I'm noticing is that it looks like the plugs on the new harness are upside down or they come in from the other side? Could this just be a taping oops or is this a upgrade to the old? It also says revision f on my new harness. I can post pics of both on here if that helps. I have also not had time yet to take the old out I just did a visual and that's what I noticed. One other thing I've noticed that's goofy with my truck is that it has the two piece ficm mounting bracket. I thought that was only on 05+ trucks? Found that out when i tried to order bushings for the bracket and they wouldnt work. It didnt have any on it and thought that vibration could be causing the problem, but during all of that found that middle connector on ficm wasnt clicking in and wouldnt. now it is zip tied til i replace harness. Sick of intermittent injector problems!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the build date of your truck on the drivers side door panel.
there is a early 04-before 9/22/03 and a late 04-after 9/22/03
If you have the 2 piece steel bracket for the FICM then you have a late 04 truck, the early has an aluminum bracket that will not work on the late trucks because the drivers side valve cover is different because of the newer style oil rails.. Look for your ICP sensor pigtail, if it is right next to the IPR pigtail then you have a harness for a Early 04 truck,, for the late 04 harness the ICP sensor pigtail should be closer to the glowplug tails..
Now you also have to be carefull when ordering because the E series vans use a different harness too.

Its a november 03 build 2004 so it is a late 04 6.0. The Icp sensor is in the passenger side valve cover. Would it still have different wiring configs with it being in the valve cover rather than being on the back like the early trucks? Also the wiring harness I am replacing is the harness that has the 2 plugs for the ficm and all of the injectors. My middle plug for the ficm stopped snapping and i had to zip tie it so my truck would still run but i still get a miss at idle sometimes and white smoke at 2000 rpms in first gear only.... sometimes. If I lay my new harness out like I believe it should go the ficm plugs point down and if i try it the other way they point up but they would lay down on the valve cover and come back up to the ficm opposite of the way they do now.

Both pics are the new harness. See how the ficm connectors come in? On the old harness they come out the other way. I tried it the way it looks on the truck now and it really stresses it and the connectors face down. The only way I can think it would work would be that it has to lay down towards the valve covers. Let me know what you think. I might just have to try it and see if it works.

Ok! Got it in there on Saturday. Had to re tape the larger connector and the other connector I was able to just twist a bit. Went pretty straight forward and even got my ficm bolted down better. Quietest it has ever been and a lot better throttle response.
Noticed in your sig bob that you have the edge juice with attitude. What do you think about it? I would like to monitor my stuff and would like a little extra for towing. Everybody seems to shoot everything but sct down on here. I've got a manual trans. Thanks for the info on the harness and if you would, let me know about the tuner. Thanks.

I love my Edge, the later Platinum one is the one that guys had trans issues with, they thought they could be speed racer with it and burnt up their trans. I bet it would be a blast with a manual though. The tow setting really helps keep the EGTs down and it pulls alot better, I like the fact that I can instantly put it back to Race mode/I get the best mileage on level 4/ after I disconnect the trailer from it, not a fan of repramming the computer to change the power.
