Default Egr block off plate

I was going down the road yesterday and apparently the bolts holding down the block off plate for the egr valve stripped the threads out of the intake manifold and the plate blew off so my turbo stopped spooling and it was just pouring black smoke out. Can I just tap and die the holes and drill out the plate for bigger bolts or am I gonna have to replace my manifold?

drill and tap would save you a lot of time and money

Alright thanks. I was just making sure it would be okay to do that. Cause I can't afford to replace the manifold

use some grease on your bit and tap to control shavings flying everywhere.

Fixed it last night with a heli coil because the parts store didn't have the right size tap. But the heli coil is doing just fine. Thanks for the help guys!

You really don't want to keep the cooler. The cooler can still give problems. You could run it the way you have until the cooler lets go and then do your delete and oil cooler kit.
