Truck will sit and idle rough. When it is in park and I step on pedal it will rev up but when I put it in drive and step on it truck does not rev up at all or move

 

when did you last change the fuel filters? There are two of them. Also check for adequate fuel pressure from lift pump. How many miles on your rig? That year of PSD have been very problematic. The HPOP (high pressure oil pump) is one of the notorious issues with that engine.

 

Replaced injector 5 as well as the glow plug for cylinder 5(The garage that worked on truck was told by ford to replace glow plug or they would not warranty the injector which was only 3 weeks old)$480.00 for parts and labor was good price I thought

The plugs in the high pressure oil resvoir leak & it causes hard stsart isssues.

 

Sounds like the shop that replaced your injector didnt torque it properly. i had this happen to mine. it blows the o-ring seal and then compression clears fuel passage in the head. Mine would start idle rough with no throttle responce and lots of white smoke.

 

My hpop went out and when the truck was in park it would rev up fine as soon as i put it in drive or reverse it wouldnt go anywhere then it wouldnt even start. I got a new hpop icp and regulator and it ran good. Now I might be having to get new injectors mine is blowing black smoke while in park with a fuel knock
