Several options are out there...Get it fixed and tuned, get a BPD half shell and a PHP tuner, or get it fixed and a PHP tuner.

Differences:
Repair and tuned- I don't recall the shop but Ed will fix the FICM and tune it with a PHP FICM tune. Only thing is this is for one tune only from PHP.

BPD half-shell and PHP tuner- Probably the best long term solution with the BPD unit lasting longer due to better build quality and components. The PHP tuner will allow several FICM tuning options. Downside is overall cost is going to be higher.

Repair and PHP tuner- Maybe the second choice since the FICM is repaired but using the PHP tuner allows for more choices in fun. Can be bought separate to help with the fiscal spending.

I would need to look up the actual dollars for each configuration but I'd say SPEND the money wisely with a long term solution being the best goal. Spending an additional $200 (example, not actual) for the BPD unit over a repaired and tuned FICM I think is the better spent money. I say this since all I need after this is a PHP FICM tuner and it's mission complete.
