Default headbolt problems

hello, i have a 2004 ford f 350 6.0 i was curious to know why it burns coolant when cold but not when hot im pretty sure i need to do headstuds but just curious to know?? thank you

it is probably burning it when it is hot but at operating temp it is harder so see because the burn is more complete. Sometimes if gasket isn't too bad the expansion from heat might be enough to seal it up.
