Throwing parts at it likely wont fix the issue. I would want to know exactly what is wrong with it before trying to "fix it." How old are the fuel filters? What's your fuel pressure at now? Without knowing that, adding a pump may not even fix it.

Most have shy'd away from the FASS pumps, but some use them with good luck. The Airdog 2 was the hot ticket for a while, but then a bunch of failures set that back. From what I've read, they've since updated the design and have been very good about helping guys out with older pumps.

You say you have "lots of mods" but what are they? What are your power goals? What is done now?

If it was me... my ideal fuel system would be a sump from the tank, to an AD150 for filtering and as a lift pump, feeding a fuelab pump, then y off to the heads and a regulated return. Don't forget a fuel pressure gauge. Sounds like you need one of those now.

Not to split hairs, but wouldn't the regulator go before the heads?

I'd use a bypass regulator to route the excess volume/pressure back to the tank.

Well if you're going to upgrade the injectors at some point, you're likely going to need a bigger pump than stock and a regulated return. I'd also lose the banks stuff, since you're not going to be able to use that with bigger turbo or injectors anyway. An SCT with custom tunes is a good first step. You may also want to look into having the headgaskets done again, haven't seen a set of black onyx last on anyone's truck. You can of course just run it until they pop again, but OEM gaskets would be the way to go when that happens.

Karl, see this: Driven Diesel Standard Regulated Return Fuel System Kit

The techni-cooler and elbow aren't hurting anything, I know, I bought the same set up used a few years ago. You may be able to use the Banks PDA as a monitor only, but if it hooks into the ECU like Brand E, I don't know if there are potential issues there.

I found my SCT on eBay for dirt cheap. I recommend reading the sticky in the performance section about buying a used SCT BEFORE making any bods. Short of that, they are for sale just about everywhere diesel performance products are sold.

I just put the Driven Diesel Regulated return system on my truck as well as all the Fully Bullet Proof up grades. Power max turbo, casserly 155 injectors, Mountain High Performance big valves in the head harden seats, ported exhaust bowls, o-ringed the heads. Stock head gaskets with ARP head studs, edge CTS display, SCT tuner with tunes from Mat at gear head performance. My truck also has 6 inch lift on 37" tires had 456 gears installed front and rear, AFE intake and a Magnaflow exhaust system. The stock pump with the driven diesel regulated return system actually supplies enough fuel to maintain 75 psi of fuel pressure minimum while under heavy acceleration. I have noticed a drop to 40 when I hammer the throttle and the trans kicks down. I have a Fass stand alone 125 sitting on my shelf that I was going to put on. I took the filter off and notice the siphon tube was tightened in the filter housing with a pair of Chanel locks so I guessing the way the rest of the pump was assembled might be of same quality.

I would also put the regulator and gauge after the heads so you know what your fuel pressure is two the injectors.
