Default when to add new hp oil pump

I have to take my truck back to the shop to replace the pass. side y pipe for some reason they used it with a block plug when they did the studs and it is leaking. I asked them what brand delete kit they were using for the egr I could not believe they went with the block o well my bad they are going to make it right good people I got lucky. Is the drivers side a solid pipe I need to look at it? My question is weather I should have replaced the oil pump when it was tore down I did have the fitting replaced. I think it can be done without taking off the manifold not sure if it makes any since to do it that way some people think you might as well take off the manifold. I feel like I have a second chance to get it right if it. Work was done two wks ago truck is 06 125000.

If you had the STC fitting replaced then you are good. Have you ever had the oil cooler rebuilt? or at least have a coolant filter installed, those 2 things ar more important then worring about the HPOP with so few miles on it. High oil temps and a busted screen below the oil cooler would be something to prevent, the new screens is stainless and can prevent debri from getting to the pump and hurting it

I had the oil cooler replaced when they did the studs. My delta is a litte higher than I thought it should be at 10. But everything else seems fine. Is the pipe on the driver side of the y a solid pipe stock?

Thanks bob

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

It looks to me that both sides have more than one flex per side do they all go bad solid pipe sinister looks a little expensive what is a good solution to this fix.

the drivers side pipe is the Ypipe and does have a flex in it, the pass side only has the up pipe you can replace if memory serves me right

I thought the combination of the 2 made the Y. I think the drivers side has a braided section. I don't know if the solid pipe from sinister replaces both of the bellows on the pass. side. I just don't know how much better off I am going to be with 1 of the old bellows still on the pass. side. I think the braided section on the driver side may not be a problem I don't remember reading about any of them going bad? Any suggestions,I would go with the sinister solid y pipe but it seems a little pricey to me at 600.00

Each side is flexible and they both connect to the y-pipe. The passener side up-pipe is the only pipe that is replaced during the EGR delete with a solid pipe. From the factory it is not solid. If you remove the EGR cooler and just put a block off plate on the stock up-pipe it will eventually crack at the bellow. This is because the egr cooler actually helps hold the stock up-pipe and make it rigid, without it, it can flex easier and will break.

If you're worried about it, just go with some upgraded up-pipes/y-pipe. Give MPD (maryland performance diesel) a call.

As for doing the HPOP... I wouldn't spend $500+ on one if it wasn't already bad...

That's what everybody is saying about the delete without the straight pipe. It sure makes since to me. O well time to move on. These things sure run good without the cat. Richfield Springs very nice I spent the first 13yrs in Fort Plain then on to Glens Falls till 20 I now live in Md. outside of the big crazy town it has been good for work but it is time to move on.

Thanks again Jeff

And MPD and Innovative Diesel are all in your state too!

How long you been out of NY? I've moved all over here myself. Amsterdam, Utica, Manlius, Morrisville, now Richfield and hoping to move again in the near future (buying a house). Good times.

Left there in 74. I don't miss building houses in those winters but love getting back up there to visit great place to grow up for sure. Bob I live in Gburg can't wait to get my truck back on track I am real real close getting the pipe fixed tomorrow. I really like the way its running hope it last for awhile it is time to play for sure.
