Default Dual battery circuit

Does anyone know the circuit for the dual battery set up? Or how to find a diagram for it? I'm trying to make 28 volts for my light bar.

I though about just running them in series but that can't be good for the charging system or everything else

You would be better off buying a 12 to 24 volt converter than messing with getting 24 volts from the batteries. How many Amps does you light bar pull? One of these should do the trick, and be much less of a headache.

Samlex Step 7 DC to DC Converter 7 Amp| ChargingChargers.com

Samlex Step 10 DC to DC Converter 10 Amp| ChargingChargers.com

I don't know anything about that website, or its products, just posted that as an example.

What the heck light bar are you running that you need 28V for it???

I wouldn't change anything on the factory side, you're going to run in to all sorts of problems.

I was thinking about just finding a battery on Craigslist and hook it up in series with the aux battery and them run a diode in series with it so it doesn't back feed and take out the good batteries,

The light bar is a military aircraft grade one

Your in to a world of wiring and headache doing it that way. A 12v to 24v adapter is the way to go. A 12 volt alternator won't change a 24 volt system. You can't charge both batteries with a 12v alternator either.
