Default HELP with rims and tires

I am currently running a set of 18's with MUD HOG 305/70/18 tires. but i know I can fit a 17" rim. However I want to run a set of tractor or skid steer tires. can I fit a 16.5 custom skidsteer rim over my factory hub and still clear the calipers? Does anyone know the clearance I need to have?

Since the OEM wheel on a DRW is 17" Id say the 16.5" wheels will contact the brakes in some form. Unless you had some one off rims made it doesn't seem realistic.

16s clear my 2003, but I am to understand that the 05s have different brakes which is why the 17 is the OEM wheel.

If the 16.5 wheel hits the caliper, then you can weld all you want, they won't fit. Hate to rain on your parade like that, but like Mr. Scott says, "Ye canno change the laws o'physics."

Hate to sound like Capt. Obvious, but make sure they are 8x170 wheels.

I was meaning I would get some 18" steelies and cut out the lug pattern plates to manufacture my own rim centers and use tractor tires instead of skid steer tires.
I can get some 38" traction tires for about 300 each
