Default air filter sensor

Hello

I just realized when changing my air filter that the air filter sensor that plugs in the back of air box was missing. I found it laying down in engine bay. My question is how bad is it that my truck has been sucking air in through the 1/2 in hole where the sensor was suppose to be. Guessing its been like that for 10k miles or so. Anything to worry about? Could this have affected my mileage and or performance? I feel like an idiot! Any help or thoughts would be great

Aaron

Depends on how dusty the roads are where you drive. It would be best to check the blades on compressor side of the turbo for dusting.

Scroll down to page 7 on this link for an example of dirt hitting the blades.
