Ok so you started the truck up without issue and got those readings? Was it running ok when this was happening? Does the problem seem intermittent? Try and get readings when it's acting up if you can.

It fired right up. Idled great. Engine ran fine when I got those readings. Now it will bog at an idle only in gear. Then rev its self up to about 1000 RPM and lurch forward. I am thinking I have a High Pressure oil side issue. I am thinking a seal somewhere starting to fail and making the high pressure oil fluctuate. Maby?

I drove the truck for 10 hours the other day and watched the ICP pids the whole day. And no issue when I have the scanner hooked up. (As any good intermittent problem will do. )

Dude I can not thank you enough for all your help here.

haha this sounds completely typical, finally get to the point where you can monitor the issue and it doesn't come out... just going to have to be patient and see if you can catch it acting up I guess.

I know. I am going to look into the high pressure oil system this weekend. Take the valve covers off and pressurize it with air. See if I cant see a little leak. I finally have a few days that I can work on the truck.

You'll need a spare IPR pig tail that you can hack up and wire up to a 12V source, this is the only way to fully close the IPR valve, otherwise your air test isn't going to work. It will all just leak out the IPR. As far as I know the scanners can command it close, but it's only 85% closed at best.

Yeah. I will get the IPR closed with full 12V. Oh yeah. So no scanner hooked up today and it would not start for me...... Such is diagnostics.

So I did my IPR test today with a snap-on verus and I could close the IPR to 90% but I could not hear any air leaking through the IPR after 15%. I am really sure this is not normal. I made an air line adapter and put 90 PSI through the system. So should I be looking at an IPR?

This might help:

Air testing High Pressure Oil System - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

Without closing the IPR fully with a 12V source, the test is really not going to tell you anything me thinks.
