When I was running Brand E, we noticed that the higher tunes could make the EGTs a little hotter. Now I am a happy SCT customer (SRL), but I am still a little concerned about EGTs when cruising. I live at 400ft elevation, rolling on 35 BFG A/Ts, AiRaid filter in the OEM box with the front removed/Zoodad, EGR delete, Banks Techni-Cooler with elbow, 3.5/4 inch straight pipe.

ECT/EOT is now 195/204 after oil cooler R&R.

Cruising 70 (cc on), I sit about 825~850. Is thing running hot or am I being nuerotic?

 

You're being neurotic. You know what's funny though, you can keep your EGT's about at that level cruising at 100mph too. Ask me how I know.

850 is nothing to worry about bud.

 

I was thinking that at a CRUISE that EGT was a little high. Hell, I don't know. I just spent 3 days swapping an oil cooler, maybe I'm just paranoid. Cruising at a buck in my Souper Doody doesn't sound fun, that's what my '67 and the wife's 07 Musatngs are for.

 

I got bored one night and had to try it out, just to see what temps were. On my stock tires it was a little higher, but RPM's were higher too. On my 35's that's what the temps are.

I'm sure you're paranoid after the swap! No worries!
