Coolant problem

Default Coolant problem

Ok guys I can sometimes smell radiator coolant through my air vents. I'm not overheating but the coolant level is low. The coolant isn't on the ground when I check so where is it goin an what could be the problem? My truck is a 2005 F250

Is there a white residue around the coolant bottle cap?

That would be dried up coolant that is pushing out of the cap.

Any mods on the truck?

Usually it's a egr cooler slowly going, or headgaskets. Could be as simple as the cap itself too.

Only mod is a 5" turbo back exhaust. Hoping it's jus the egr cause the head gaskets is about 3600 to fix

3600.00 with the needed upgrades is a steal .

But for gaskets alone? I didn't see that he gaskets and other upgrades..

That's jus to tear into it change the gaskets head studs egr blocker oil cooler

Yeah I'm sure that includes labor, that's probably about right.

Their right, that price isn't bad at all actually if it's being done at a Ford garage, unfortunately I wouldn't trust any ford shop to do the job correctly myself. Their specs on what a "flat" head is seem to differ from the rest of the world.

There really isn't a scientific way to figure out which it is without diving in, but this is the best I've seen:
