Long cranks before starting
Hey guys I've got an 06 f-350 all stock except afe stage 3 intake and mbrp turbo back exhaust. Every time I go to start I wait for the light to go out and crank her over it takes between 5-10 secs to start the truck. I change my oil and fuel filters every 5-8 thousand miles. I'm new to powerstrokes so does anybody know what it could be? Or point me in the right direction. Trucks got 141k on the clock
Have you checked your batteries and tested your FICM? Have the batteries load tested. If one is bad replace both as the other will fail shortly after the first. The FICM test procedure is a sticky above in the 6.0 section. 4 to 7 seconds is my average on my truck. Longer when its colder and faster when its warmed up.
Mine used to start in about 2-3 seconds no matter what the temperature was but something has changed. It still runs fine but I've lost fuel MPG's too but I just put a leveling kit and 35's on the truck so I figured the bigger tires was prob most of my fuel issue.
