Get off your high horse, I didnt intend for that to be towards you. Most of us buy 6.0s used so it was not up to us anyway is what Im saying. That is why if I see a truck on a lot thats been "used" forget about it.

Then don't ASSUME we're all in the "those people are people who have money they don't care to spend on repairs" criteria. I've only put $5k worth of parts into my rig and it's only that much because I wanted some of the extra stuff (fuel/air separator and bypass filter eating up almost a grand of that). Head studs/gaskets/egr cooler/oil cooler/coolant filter will make these trucks very reliable and for a fair price, all of it can be done for $2800 if you do it yourself (not a difficult job but does require knowledge and time)

And dealing with a junk transmission is any different?

No sh**, 7.3s are no different been there done that. They all get expensive but a 6.0 has a lot of potential for what it is.

Looking at the retail value of 18k, if i would of went for it i wouldn't of touched it unless they dropped it down to atleast that

call the bank you use and ask them the loan value of it if you really want to buy it. that is the true value.

how am i on a high horse? i didnt have 5k to spend on the engine as soon as i bought it. not many people have 5k after spending 13k on a truck. dont get me wrong, my 6.0 drives and runs great.. when it wants to. but i just got tired of dumping money into it. if i wouldnt have had the problems i would probably be driving it right now because it wouldve lasted longer than it did stock. yes they have potential, but i dont like the idea of buying a truck thats supposed to be made right, then dumping money into it just to get it to run right.. kind of defeats the purpose of buying it :humm:

I'd sell you the truck in my sig for that price and give you all of the bulletproof stuff sitting on my table with it, and keep the vegistroke on it too. Have an extra set of heads already milled, gaskets, all the Ford update parts etc... :w2:

But I thought you loved your truck :humm::w2:

I do. That's my point, everything has a price, and for that price I'd be willing to let mine go. Been wanting a crew cab anyways. I'd probably go to a 6.4 if I got rid of this, just because of how easy it is to make power with them. Just picked up a TDI this week, so don't really need the good mileage from the vegistroke anymore either. :c:

tiremann9669 09-11-2012 10:33 AM

I'd love a TDI but I'm not really small car friendly :nope:
