Lol. That's what figured i have no intentions of wanting a 6.0 i have a 7.3 service truck and love it but thought id ask the experts. The price is way out of retail but i could of talked them down. The truck just fit my criteria so i thought id ask. Id prefer a ford over dodge. And Ive owned many of both.

Guess ill keep my eye open for a 7.3 psd s/c shortbed.

Im not biased at all,I had a 7.3 and couldnt deal with the mpg and other issues it had so I tried a dodge and like it. I still like fords and have a ford vehicle. I said the 6.0 can be very good trucks if you read my whole statement, I love my uncles interior and ride quality, I didn't say to not buy it once I said make sure to research the vehicle and het an oasis report.

My 99 ext cab short bed,4x4 with 35 inch bag's, intake, exhaust, chip, gauges and o typically got 15-17 mpg no matter how I drove in town, and would get about 225-260 miles on one tank fill up every week.

Good idea! Keep your eye out for a good 7.3 if your sticking to ford. I love my uncles 2001 7.3, (i had to borrow it for 2 weeks when my 6.0 poope out) :argh:

Don't believe the 6.0 owners that tell you "oh my god it's awesome" those people are people who have money they don't care to spend on repairs.

:tu: Make your choice wisely, I can't make it for you.

or they might be the people that take care of their trucks

I take care of my truck the best that I can. We all don't have thousands to spend on a shitty motor. Don't ASSUME you know me or how I care for things.

Then don't ASSUME we're all in the "those people are people who have money they don't care to spend on repairs" criteria. I've only put $5k worth of parts into my rig and it's only that much because I wanted some of the extra stuff (fuel/air separator and bypass filter eating up almost a grand of that). Head studs/gaskets/egr cooler/oil cooler/coolant filter will make these trucks very reliable and for a fair price, all of it can be done for $2800 if you do it yourself (not a difficult job but does require knowledge and time)

And dealing with a junk transmission is any different?
