I can run 70mph and be well under 2k rpms and I can't ever touch the mileage you guys seem to get.

I recently made a trip to Junction, TX and back. The highway was pretty darned flat. I was driving my truck (in my signature). I drove 60 mph all the way. I pissed off alot of drivers b/c the speed limit is 80 on that stretch. (Im retired, so I dont have to be anywhere at any particular tme) My lie'o'meter was reading 25.2 mpg, but hand calculated came up with 22 mpg. That remained pretty consistent throughout. I was really happy with that. I think having my tire pressure at max, 80 psi, all synthetic fluids, new filters, and extended front air dam really helped.

Lmao. I'm fairly sure that I'm pulling better than my calculated 17. My gearing/tires aren't matched perfect so I have about a 10% difference on speed (cruise control set with the needle dead on 60mph, a CHP buddy clocked me at 66mph) so unless I messed up my math somewhere, the truck is actually going 10% farther than the trip-meter says. So a 550 mile fill-up is actually a 600 fill-up and the ~17mpg is really closer to 18 or 19. Soon I'm going to find out EXACTLY how far off it is and do a Google Maps route with my wife's car (to see how close the mileage is comparing her trip-meter and the prospective mileage), then do the same trip in my truck to see just how much of a difference I have.

Get the damn thing recalibrated! hahaha

Another glorious thing AE can do is recalibrate speedo's.... Mine is dead nuts. Verify it with a GPS.

I will Mike, just hasn't hit the top of the priority list yet. Life has a tendency of getting in the way.
