Are you talking about the "lowered" Excursion I pictured as what I was going for? I think you're right. As for now I'm keeping the lift. My kids love it, my wife loves it (now) and I don't mind the height either.

The ride quality was what had me upset the most. It felt like there was no suspension travel at all. It would be great if I was single and had a hot girl like in your avatar riding upfront, but not so great when my wife is complaining about her "jiggly twins" and I have to foot the bill for new bras.

I looked at the wear marks on the shocks and there was about 1.5" of clean shaft. After disconnecting the secondary front shocks it has gone up to about 4" of movement now from normal driving. Much softer and alot more flex to it all. I think I need to weigh down the back a bit and see how it rides before I go buying new springs and shocks.

yep....the bottom pic.....pro comp 4" will get you there.......don't reccomend the 315's on those stock rims it has in the pic though.....you can get away with it but you really need at least 8 " wide rims

How much will X codes lift the front? and what spring would give the same amount of lift for the back?

Cannot address the X code question but with the V/B code mods that I did to my 2000 Exc it raised the rear by roughly 3". This required me to put a 2" hanger on the front when I mounted the new springs on the front to keep it level. Really happy with the way it turned out, drives like a new truck!

Check her out"
