OK Ex owners.....what springs are you running if not these ???

Revtek 6" lift springs...

But X codes are good for the front.

I have Atlas on mine - :argh: - might as well have solid steel I-beams holding the truck up.

I'm interested in what others are doing to get these up in the air and still ride nice.

Recently switched mine to F250 leveling springs and a 2" add a leaf on the rear.....lifted the Ex 4"......rides pretty firm.......but no sway really

Help me understand what "pretty firm" is - compare it to something if you could - The guy I bought my truck from told me it road "firmly" - The thing rides like it has no suspension at all.

I will compare it to riding an 8,000lb. solid oak table with wooden wagon wheels down a bumpy road.

Is that how firm yours is?

I have a 2002 F150 2wd and the back is firm, the front ride is nice. Little bit of tail bounce on the interstate, but nothing a full tank of gas, or one 50lb bag of sand in the bed won't cure.

It rides like an F250/350.....not like a hay wagon......harsher than original EX springs but it does not feel solid like yours

Well I'm finally going to do something about the ride quality of my truck - I'm getting rid of my suspension for OEM gear. I posted an ad on Craigslist for anyone who wanted the lift and tires to swap out for my modified stuff. I had a ton of interest and I finally settled on a guy who owns a mechanics shop down the road from my house.

He's going to swap it all out at his shop for his OEM stuff plus a 4" Ford lift, his rims and a new set of tires of my choice, his running boards for my steps, and a little cash to sweeten the deal. I'm going to hit up a local lift shop to see if they have any of the take off F350 springs they might want to part with before this takes place.

I'm sad, but happy at the same time.

I think my wife is having second thoughts...she loves the attention we get in this thing.

I you couldn't tell from the avatar already - the deal for the suspension swap fell through.

I do have some good news... at the suggestion of one of my friends, I disconnected one of the large King shocks from each side at the front of truck. It smoothed out the ride considerably. The back end still has some hop to it, but I think I might be able to mount some weights underneath the body (supported by frame rails) directly above the rear axle. I'm guessing somewhere around four to five hundred pounds will smooth it out nicely. I guess I'll have to weight and see...get it?!! weight??.. never mind :ww:

You can get to that for about pretty cheap.....pro comp 4" springs......
