You dont need to pull the cab with a 6.0, it's just easier to do. On the trucks, a good tech can have the cab off in 45 minutes. The excursion is only two more chassis bolts and the tail lights need to be unplugged. Not all that terrible really. You can still pull the motor out if you need to, just easier to leave the motor in place and pull the cabs.

I hear that the cab is easy to get off. I just always manage to have to much stuff in my shop to get anything else in it so I end up working in the driveway. I also don't have a 2 post lift and I would have to take a lot of steroids to lift the body off one of them.

Very true. Thats kind of what has slowed me on the look for the Excursion. I wan't one with a 7.3 but they want a fortune for them. I guess that tells you what the owners of 7.3 powered Excursions think of there ride. Don't get me wrong I still want one bad just waiting to find the right deal.

I own a 2000 7.3 excursion, well it my dads but i do must the work on it... Just joined DB love the thing to death, definatly the best deal aroun only paid 9000 for it every other one i see is like 18k... We have a evolution programmer and a big boost kit on it and it hauls tail...
