Default 85 6.9 fuel issues

Hey all,
Been having some issues with the 6.9 I own, seems to be sucking air at times and when parked seems to lose prime. Just started a few months back already did injectors and the fuel lines look good. I just replaced the lift pump since it was leaking oil and I figured that was the problem. It ran great after I put the pump in then when I got fuel it started the surging/light smoking thing.(new fuel filter already didn't help) this problem is not constant, truck does not miss and the water separator has already been by passed. When I fill the tank I have to go slow on the nozzle or it "burps" out the neck, is there a breather valve on the fuel tank that could be clogged that could cause fuel starvation/air ingestion?

Already changed those after I bought it since they were leaking that was over a year ago, guesss I'll have to do some more chasing. Just looking for ideas on where to start.
