if he wants to install a strong good motor, screw a Powerstroke. why hassel with the electronics. install a 12 valve cummins.

today i checked the tps on my truck and it seems to be set correct with 1 at idle and 3.8 at WOT any suggestions on where to check next with the problem?

 

whats a TPS ? and I thought the IDI's didnt have codes ? or is that just for the engine and the tranny has a computer ? when mine did that it was a blown fuse in the dash.

 

TPS= Throttle Possition Sensor and my fuses are fine

 

hey was wondering if you could help me out, my 89 f350 7.3 Idi has a blinking o/d light flashing constantly when driven but not at idle. When I drive it gets stuck in gears but eventually finds gear. It only does it when u start accelerating. When I take the fuse out and drive it shifts fine. Not sure what could be the cause

 

Help, if you can, got a 1991 F350 w/7.3 IDI 315,000 miles on it been running great no problems until the last 6 months, been loosing antifreeze. Think it's got a cavitation problem according to what I've been reading. Been raining hard the last few days, started the truck ran 20 seconds, really rough, made a loud bang and that's it, seems to be locked up. Pulled the air cleaner some water in the intake, Pulled the glow plugs and still won't turn over any ideas where to go from here? Thanks, JIM

 

How are you doing? I know this post was quite a while ago but would love to know what fixed the problem as I have the same thing going on
