got a rebuilt tranny in my 94 xtra cab 4x4 factory turbo 7.3...... shouldnt they have checked the u joints since they replaced both yokes ? not placing blame on the dealership but i just threw the drive shaft this morning taking the kid to school and almost rolled the truck........ its in the shop now so still not sure if the trans caused the shaft problem or not but the bolts on the u joints in the rear were sheared... no warnin, no vibration ... just WHAAPAAH !!!. any thoughts out there ?

 

YUP,id be pissed too,they had to remove and reinstall them they shouldve check them.i double check everything when you get it back,u joints are easy to check a good shake will go along way

 

do you think a drive shaft from the same type of truck but a gasser will work on my 7.3 ?

 

yeah prob as long as its has same tranny/transfer and length of truck.

 

Got the drive shaft fixed and 2 new front wheel bearings....now I need ball joints and a steering box ! for crying out I didnt know I bought Steve Austins Six Million Dollar Truck ! does anyone know if a 3 micron filter is too restrictive for a veggie system ? I placed it just after the fuel line comes out of the tank.
