Default fuel system problems need serious help!!

i have a 94 idi turbo with 149,548. im fairly sure it has stock injectors, return lines, and ip. the other day i went to get fuel and it ran about a half a mile down the road fine until it lost power and the motor started to shake violently, then plumes of white smoke came out of my tailpipe.so i pulled over and sat for a moment and after bout 5 min it died and wouldnt strt back up. well after haulin it home i waited a day and after a few cranks it started right up but the motor shaked and smoked the same and after a few minutes it died. when i moved it into the shop i noticed that a drops of fuel where acumulating under the front of the truck. i think that i could be the ip or i heard the fuel shut off solenoid? or return lines? any ideas could help i just dont want to pull the ip and it end up being return lines.
thanks!

find where it is the wettest. with the issues u are having, i would look at the feed lines. from the lift pump on the pass side of the block up to the fuel filter then down to the pump. see if any are cracked or leaking. do not try and tighten the ends of the lines. they have a rubber olive inside the nut that seals it up. they can be leaking also. IH sells new olives.

do u think possibly there could be air intrusion or air pockets in the fuel lines causing the fuel not to be as pressurized and cause missfires and excessive white smoke

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

how do u blead the lines on these idis

on the fuel filter you have a schrader valve. push that in till fuel comes out. then crack loose all 8 injector lines. crank engine till fuel starts coming out fo them. tightned lines back up.

crank for 10-15 seconds, then a 5 min cool down. unless you want to be replacing starter soon too.

Default Check your fuel

Sound like you may have put gasoline in it instead of diesel. If it ran fine til you put fuel in it and it only made it about a half a mile before you had problems I would say it is the fuel. There was plenty of diesel in the lines and the fuel filter to get you down the road about a half mile, and when the gasoline finally made
it in, that would cause the symptoms you described.

Serious problem. Truck just started "pouring" diesel from above the starter. Checked the injector lines and didn't see anything but, I do see bubbling around the rear passenger glow plug. Please help! What should I check and/or what should I look for now? Are there fuel lines running thru that area?

Is the line tight back there, is the injector loose, there are plastic caps that fit over the injectors with small rubber lines running between them, they would be your return lines, one of them might have came off or is leaking. The Fuel line from the tank should run up on the passenger side, check it for a hole, I think it is a metal line, anyways it was on my 85 til I replaced it with hose.

also check to see if it is leaking from under the Injection Pump, if so you will probably need to replace it. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Ok. Don't know why but, the front driver side injector was pretty loose so I pulled is, put new o-rings on it, never-seized it an put it back in. Also, I went ahead and put a new return line hat on it and the leak stopped. No more pouring down by the starter. But, it is still idling like crap and smoking it's *** off. Any ideas?

could be an air intrusion, bleed the air out of the system. there is a schrader valve by the filter, take the cap off and use a screw driver or something to push it open, put some rags down first so you can catch the excess fuel.
