Default transfer case

my transfer case keeps poping out when its in 2wheel peel of if its in 4 high one my 86 f350 but not when its in 4 low is there a way to adjust the linkage at all

no way to adjust the linkage. it acutally sounds like your shift forks are worn out and not putting the gears in fully. time for another case or a rebuild.

thank you, i had to buy a new t case the last owner ran gear oil in it and ruined the internal pump

there ya go. pump spun in it's spot after it locked up. LET THIS BE A LESSON YOU EVERYONE! MAKE SURE YOU ARE PUTTING CORRECT FLUIDS IN YOUR TRUCK!!!! any questions for fluid reccomendations, pm me.

Same fluid as for the rear-end? The reason why I ask this is because I am about to change the seal on the rear-end where the yoke goes in at. I figure I need to check my t.c. and probably top it off.

depending on what tcase you have, it will either take ATF or gear oil. MOST of them take ATF. same with the zf5 trans. that also takes ATF. rears take gear oil, of your choice. i run 75-140 synthetic gear oil in the rear of my dually.

Not sure what mine is. Just know that I have an E4OD if that helps and a Dana 60.

you have a e4od, BW1356 transfer case, sterling 10.25 rear and dana 60 front.



uses trans fluid in the tcase.
