i have an exhaust leak in what i think is the slip join between the exhaust crossover and the turbo im wondering if there is a fix other than buying the new upper and lower pieces? can i just weld it or will that mess something up?

Doubt it but, it sure would suck if for some unknow reason that you have to cut it apart. I figure it would be better to change the doughnut out or what ever is in there. Just not sure if the material changes between cast and steel, or what ever they both are. Keep trying though; someone will point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Does it have a "V" band clamp on it?

if it is the slip joint, take it apart and put some sealer on it then back together. they sell the sealer in the exhaust section of parts stores. it comes in a tube like RTV does. belive it is called acusticseal. or something like that.
