Default Zero fuel pressure

New Problem. Diesels are so damn finicky. If things just are'nt so they don't go.
I'm very sure I have no fuel pressure because I had a tattle tail leaking fuel injector when it was running. Now it won't even start and my snitching fuel injector is not leaking anything.
Must be lift pump or injector pump. How can I test one agianst the other to isolate the problem? Also I checked the silonoids in the system and they seem to work fine.
Is the lift pump in the fuel tank? Should I hear it running when the ingition is on?
Need your help Please.
Before I go back to gassers..

Remove the fuel filter, then kick the key on. If nothing, or hardly anything comes out, bad lift pump.

wrong mr bill. the pumps are mechanical off the pass side of the block. just like a gasser. remove the bleeder vavle from the filter head, and hook a hose up to it. now have someone crank it. if no fuel comes out, could be 2 things. bad lift pump or broken off pickup tube.

how much fuel is in your tank?

fuel pressure running is only 7 psi MAX. any higher will throw off the pump timing internally.

so it sounds like then five would suffice. we actually figured finally that our pressure is good but the bleeding off is the real issue. replaced fuel lines, o-rings, basically ran out of ideas. the only other spot we could figure was the injectors themselves.
