engine caught fire
I was on my way into the bush to go do some firewood today when the eng temp light came on, by the time I stopped the engine was on fire underneath the master cylinder. I sprayed it down with the extinguisher. Then had it towed to my place. I've let it cool down for 6 hours then tried to start it. The engine cranks over, but the trannies spinning faster then it ever did and the truck won't start. It seems like the engine has no compression. Is there any fix or am I better off with a new motor?
Do you have cruise control? Seems to be a common place to catch fire, there was a tsb about it. As for the engine not starting, have you checked all the fuel lines and wiring to the IP? It might not be getting fuel if the wires have been melted. post a pic of it.
