Was pulling my Parasail Boat over the weekend and started to get a vibration from the drive shaft, after looking the center bearing is shot. What I need to know is how do I get the carrier of the drive shaft, is it something I can do or do I have to take the drive shaft to a shop???????

it is pressed on. not to bad of a job. get a new bearing, cut the old one off(torch, cutoff wheel) and clean up the shaft where the bearing slides on. then find a peice of pipe the size of the bearing and tap it on.


unless u have acces to a press.

 

I couldn't for the life of me get mine off. After much frustration I just took it in and had all the joints and the carrier replaced as well as getting it balanced that way I wouldn't have to worry about anything on the driveshaft for a long time.
