Hi im cody i own a 1994 ford f-250 7.3 idi this is my first diesel truck ive owned and to be honest i havnt heard much on how to help with power on these non turbos. its a turd anyone out the have some suggestions im thinking bout turning up my pump but i actually like my truck any help

 

u can turn up the pump, but make sure u have a pyro first. easy to burn up the motor.

there are turbo kits u can install on it. ats, banks, and hypermax all sell them.

whats the dificulty of instaling a pyro can anyone give me someinstrution or a quick walk through on prices ect.

 

from the quick pricing i did they range from 100$ to 200$ up here in canada, i'm sure down where you are the pricing is not the same likely less, and they can go higher depending on quality of gauge you look into buying, and the ones i looked into are as simple as drilling the manifold and taping the hole and screwing in the probe, other kits have a bung that needs to be welded to the manifold for mounting, once again, it depends on what you buy. and the rest is just mounting the gauge in the cab, running the wires for the lights and the probe.

 

isspro, autometer, and a lot others all sell pyros. normally run around 100-150 bucks.

u will need an 1/8 inch pipe tap. sears has them. drill the correct size hole into the driverside manifold near the rear of the manifold. then tap that hole. install the probe and wire it up. do NOT cut the wires going to the probe. coil the extra under the dash. cutting them will effect the gauge.


since u dont have a turbo, dont worry about the metal shavings. best to do it with the motor running so most of them are pushed out of the pipe once u break threw.
