non turbo idi exhaust
The way my exhaust it set up now is a 3 inch pipe from the y straight to a single stack. I was thinking about doing a true dual system. I want to remove the factory y pipe and run individual pipes from the manifolds and turn em up in to there own stack in the bed. I plan to turbo the truck eventually so I kno I can't have that set up but for now I want to do it jus to see how it will sound/ perform and jus to say I did it. Tell me what yall think. I'm thinkin ill need to use 2.5 inch pipe to creat the back preaseure

I wanted to do the same thing. I never really looked to see what it would take to do, but since I take my truck out in the hills and play, I didn't want to run the pipe under the frame rail. I thought about cutting out a hole, welding in a piece of pipe, then putting flex pipe on both sides, then running the pipe to the bed outside the frame rail and up.
Like I said, I never really checked into doing it that way but its an idea.

You could do something like this...its 4" pipe but you could run it down the frame rails. I have move mine inboard back under to stock placement now but you get the idea. And yeah flex pipe makes life a lot easier.
