do not get dps injectors, they suck. do make power but haze all the time. good injectors are sold by mel(angem) over on oilburners. they are called moose misters, belive thye go for 800 a set. he also sells upgraded injection pumps.

You should be able to find a decent 95-97 7.3 for pretty cheap. I find them up here quite often with only minor problems but they usually have high miles, but that doesn't bug me.

see the ones that i find at high miles r either beat to hell ranch trucks what would need an entire new body and bed or the frame is rusted all to hell. or when its fired up i can smell coolant through the exhaust or some other problem that makes it not worth the money and risk

The only dodge with a 12v I have seen around here for $3k also has 370,000 miles and not a single straight body panel. Everybody wants a mint for those things, thats how I ended up with an IDI. At the time I had $8k to spend and couldn't find a single cummins within 500 miles for less than $10k.

With the 6.9 or any IDI really, the most you will ever get out of it modded up is just under 200hp at the wheels. I have seen 215hp but that was with propane. A guy with moose misters and a moose pump recently made 205hp. If you just want a solid reliable rig, add a turbo and some pressure matched injectors, set the timing properly and go.

thats exactly what im lookin for...something that is a reliable back up to my POS 6.0. im not lookin to build a 6.9 to any crazy power level. dont get me wrong ill bomb it but most of my money would be cosmetic stuff like wheels tires paint running boards bumpers ect.
