My speedometer is off by about 7mph. and my tach is off bad. it doesnt go over 1000 rpms. Does this have to do with something in the dash or problems in themselves???

 

Probably bad sending units. Get aftermarket gauge kits for both.

 

where would you get the kits???

 

the tach is probly sender. get new sender for it.

speedo is hard to tell what it is

 

The tach sensor is usually the culprit when the tach is malfunctioning. It's a dealer only part and will cost you $60-$80.

Do you have oversized tires? That will throw your speedometer off. I'm assuming this is on the 88 ford in your signature. The speedometer is still mechanically driven and the only way to correct it is to change the driven gear on the end of the speedometer cable.

 

Ill check the tires size. Ya its the 88. Thats not to bad on a tach unit. Ill try to find a gear for it.
