I guess I'll get you the measurements; I suppose a hose could be out of position, or something. After I saw the pitiful excuse for fuel tanks I have relative to the space available, I really got to thinking about fabbing up some really big ones.

The tanks in these trucks should be in the neighbor hood of 16 gallons each. This seems to hold true every time I fill up. I get more fuel when I reach 1/4 tank and usually add 12-14 gallons back into each tank. The pickups in the tanks are prone to breaking off causing you to start sucking air at about 1/4 tank. When you say you ran dry, did the guage read empty as well? Also, an easy way to increase your capacity is to replace the rear tank with one from a bronco. The bronco tanks hold 32-38 gallons. You would need to get the sending unit and pickup tube for a bronco as well. The only down side to this is you can't mount your spare under the truck...if you still do.
