Best battery for the 6.9L?
Hello all, first post here, found the site searching Google for F 250 forums. I bought a beater truck and I believe I have a bad battery, tried starting it a couple hours ago after I brought it home last night and it sat till a couple hours ago ..had to jump the battery with my car.
My question is, what's a good battery for this engine that won't break my wallet that has at least a 3+ year free replacement?
Also..can someone explain to me why this truck/engine has 2 batteries? I jumped the one on the left, not sure what the one on the right is for? It looks new(er) though. And why is there a wall plug in that I believe is hooked up to the battery that I jumped?
Thanks again..I plan to stick around as I'll have more questions down the road..
Edit: What kind of CCAmps should I be looking at? I live in Indiana so the temps do get pretty damn low..

try to get the highest CCA you can. i ran Neverstarts from walmart. 1000cca. never had a problem.
some swap over to group31 tractor trailer style batts.
the 110 plug is for your block heater
truck has two batterys due to the needed amps. the batterys are wired in series to make same voltage but double the amps.
battery on the passengerside of the truck is your main battery. driverside is auxillary. better to jump with the passengerside.

How can I figure out which battery is bad? Would it be the one I jumped? (the passenger side)
I tried looking at Walmart.com for prices but can't seem to find their battery selection? How much does the NeverStarts with 1,000cca run? Free Warranty period?
I'm going to guess that it probably wouldn't be wise to mix and match batteries? Due to different CCA ratings?
Is it EverStart or Neverstart?

Never heard of Group 65 batteries..
I called Walmart and they got the 1,000 CCA Everstart with 3 year free warranty and 96 month pro rated for $75, I'll probably just go with 2 of those.
Dumb question..but having 2 batteries at 1,000CCA each that won't hurt no wires or anything will it? That's a shitload of amps.

Group 65 is just the size of the batteries. They were still everstart brand or something like that.
I just replaced my old batteries 2 weeks ago, they were only 850CA/675CCA. I got a pair of 1000CA/850CCA batteries and my truck starts so much quicker and easier now. I'm not talking a little better, this was a night/day difference. I believe 1000CA is the minimum you should use. Thats what everyone reccomended when I was looking.
