4x4 conversion
Hey guys I have a 93 f350 dually that my granpa left to me when he passed away and I was wondering how hard it would be to make it four wheel drive. I figured it would be easier if I bought a donor truck. Its a crew cab and my wife n kids love the room. I would just like it to 4x4. The truck is in great shape it has no rust at all on the body n only has 116k on the 7.3 w/banks sidewinder any info would be great.
getting a donor 4x4 truck would be the easiest way to go about it as far as I know.
If you are a big DIY guy I would look into companies that make the solid axle swap conversions for IFS trucks and see if you can get spring hangers and stuff and go that route.
If you need any help looking them up shoot me a PM and I will see if I can find some stuff along those lines for you.

i have done this twice. it not to hard on the older truck(i did it on an 83 and 86). the newer trucks have a crumple zone behind the front bumpers. might want to look and see if your truck has this. if not, find a donor, measure everything up and bolt it.
all the spring hangers and shock mounts will bolt in, just need to find locations and drill the holes. last time took me 2 days. this involved removal of 2wd parts, and installation of 4x4 parts.
