acually funny i saw this, i have a 96 and the same thing happend. all i did was spin my clutch backwords a few times while the truck was running but not while the ac was on i then turned the ac on and it only spun like 1 time every 20 seconds, so then i put a recharge kit on my AC and charged it up and now the clutch runs all the time insted of on and off.

If there is no refrigerant in the system, the pressure switch won't allow the clutch to operate. My 93 E350 has the same problem and I jumped the switch to check the clutch and it engaged with the jumper. I checked the refrigerant charge, and it is gone. Sure could use some A/C here right now.

There has to be enough pressure in the system for the switch to engage the A/C Clutch. It will also not engage it has not built enough pressure in the system.
