Exclamation Looked at a GPR...WTF!!

I was picking up a new fuel filter and decided to see what a GPR looked like. It looks exactly like the starter solenoid in every other ford vehicle I've owned. Is there some internal difference to justify the extra $120 it would cost to get the GPR instead of a starter solenoid?

I have seen some ford powerstroke diesel owners that upgraded their GPRs to the Stancor (White-Rogers) 586-902 relay. I think the one guy said it cost him like 44 dollars or something. (Don't quote me on this)

Are you talking about the relay or the controller that looks like a relay mounted on a black box at the back of the valley?

yeah, they are expensive. I didn't think you could buy the solenoid seperate. I don't know why they are so much. Is the from Ford or an auto parts store?
