Default I NEED HELP

My friend has a 87 6.9 thats got one problem and we can't figure it out. The truck won't start by it self, it has to be pulled, but it only like 10 feet then it fires right up and stays running. And if you stall it out and immediatly try to fire it again it will no problem. So heres what we've done; changed fuel lines, changed fuel filter, new glow plugs, the injectors check out to be good, and so does the lift pump. We have also bled the intire fuel system. It won't even start with ether, and we even tried to like prime it and put raw diesel into the intake manifold and it wouldn't start.

Remove the return line and check valve on the injector pump. Try and start it then.

Yep! It's there to keep fuel from being siphoned out of the pump when it's sits. It won't run away.

While were at it, remove the wire and check for solenoid action. If it doesn't click real good w/ the check in, but does a bit better w/ out, the solenoid is bad. The return needs to work or the injector pump pressures up and it won't start/run real good.

Drove too many Oldsmobiles with the 5.7L diesel. They had the same exact company make their inj. pump as Ford did for the 6.9 and 7.3
