Upgrading from a C6 to a ZF-5-Speed w. 4x4 - Transfer case question
Dear community,
i am planning to upgrade my 1988 F250 Diesel 4x4 from a c6 to a ZF 5-Speed.
Can I use the c6 transfer case or do I need one that fits the ZF?
Can I use my C6 crossmember, or do I have to get one especially for the ZF?
Any other advices highly appreciated :-)
Thanks.
Joerg

I have a T-19 and i reguralry get 20 ... 3.55's with 35's .. all day
Trust me, that 5 speed wont really need 5th till about 65+ .... so unless your gonna run like 235/85's or 33's ...
Check my pics , its getting HG's right now, but dang good runner .. toss in a quart of ATF ( Dextron is great ) and it will help clean injectors and give ya some mpg gains..

the C6 just froze and took the driveshaft with it.
Upgrade is being done right now.
Thank you very much for the tip with the ATF.
Will definately try it.
Does anybody know the driveshaft lengh (mid u-joint to mid u-joint) for a 1988 7.3 l Diesel manual transmission 4x4 regular cab?
Thanks
