Ok Blue smoke can be an indicator of a few things ... one of which is obvious .. Rings
But the other is Air intrusion into the fuel system .. and by running an electric pump and giving the dinosaur on the side of the block its walking papers ... these engins run better and make more power reliably with the electric pumps ... ( 8-10 psi @ IP ) .

i guess i was wrong about the color of smoke it is greyish by the time i was seeing it it looked blue to me my friend checked it today said its gray. i dont want it to smoke crazy but just when i get on it id like to see a little also couldnt hear any turbo until i turned the fuel screw up now i can hear the turbo a bit not like other stock trucks but just barley and ideas

Check your turbo for looseness and check your filter to ensure there is not any restriction ... a smmoth pipe from cleaner to turbo can make quite a difference ... the air coming in at high speed can become turbulant through the fluted rubber/plastic piping and causes the air to crash around before getting to turbo and can cause a lack of air actually getting into turbo ...

ok it is the older idi set up with aluminum air box strait to turbo i have a k/n air filter on it . im not sure on the conection between the intake and turbo although every thing seems tight .

The timing should never be advanced nor retarded more than a dimes worth (thickness of a time) however too advanced and you risk melting down your engine, to early and equally as bad, it takes all of 10 minutes to adjust it, but doing it by ear takes practice. You need a pulsing timing adapter, or a probe light. I did mine by ear, and got it pretty close to 10.5, had to have my instructor do it for me.
