The pickup tube in the tank can dry and break off, I would try adding more diesel to the tank and seeing what happens then

Is there a fuel pump that looks almost like a shiny disc on the side of the passenger side of the block? I was told to replace that if theres no pressure to the fuel filter

It's on the lower passenger side of the block, it's shiny and has one outlet port which is the hardline for the filter inlet, and one inlet which goes from the tank

So I have that disconnected and going to replace it,There would be no fuel pressure in the filter if that wasn't pumping correct? Just learning the same way most of here did haha Appreciate all the help Dortiz!

Yeah, that pump is what builds the fuel pressure up to the pump, then the pump then sends a highly pressurized stream of fuel to each injector

The arm angle changed, it works all the same , the replacement I bought was completely different then the one it originally had, but worked great, could always throw in an electric diesel pump just for kicks like I did

It should, at a glance it seems that it wouldn't but after looking into it and finally placing it into my block, fired right up no problem, I'm not using mine anymore due to an electric pump, more for show even being 4 months old

It's all good haha, this is my first IDI aswell, have already turned her from a fish tank into a semi road worthy beast, my last truck was a 99 powerstroke, who the previous owner was nice enough to strip the nuts and the connector for the high pressure oil injectors, so I spilled 3 quarts of oil every trip and have no way to fix it other than replacing the whole unit

You're out in AJ? Not to far from myself haha
