I was curious about what glow plug would be recommended for my 1993, I was looking at some Diesel Rx. Are these good, says for 6.9/7.3L

Use the motorcraft plugs, I had to pull swollen autolites out of both of my IDI's. You actually need the ZD1A plugs for the 6.9, the ZD9 plugs are for the 7.3. When using a push button on the 6.9 with the ZD1A's, only run them for 10 seconds.

You're right on the brand, my bad was thinking he had a 7.3 for some reason

ive had the autolights in for more than 5 years and haven't had a single issue with them ..... not sure why everyone says there not good .... mine looked great when I pulled the heads off ... wire wheeled them and re-installed with some anti-seize ....

Some people believe the swelling could be due to people running a push button setup and running the plugs for too long. On my 86 that could have easily been the case as it had a push button on it and 5 swollen autolite plugs. My 93 however had and still has a factory controller and I removed 3 swollen autolite plugs from it when I got it. I took the few good autolites from the 86 and hooked them up to a battery charger. One of them glowed for about 15 seconds then burnt out, the other two swelled up right before my eyes. The quality control may have gotten better since then, as the plugs I pulled from the 86 were likely installed in the mid 90's and you don't hear many swollen plug stories from ones that were recently installed these days.
