Default Adjusting injection pump issue!

Picked up a well working EGT gauge for 20 bucks ( like new)! So I decided I want to do the adjustment on my stanadyne injection pump... After reading a few different posts on different forums I got a good idea how to do it correctly.. When I bump the engine over to set the stud found in the gear oil case at the 12 o'clock position the 5/32 Allen screw won't appear!! I did it multiple times and still can't figure out wont it won't become visible.. Is the IP no good or has anyone else ran into this issue and figured it out?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Need help, one of the two things holding me back from getting this tank running!!

i needed a mirror and I have done mine several times ... its a real BIT%^ ... to see it in there.... its there though .. pull alternator and have a buddy roll it over with a big ratchet ... i do it alone ... it is doable ... a pain but doable .... onec you have done it a few times you will be good at it .... start with about 1 full turn ..... go too much and you'll just be making retarded smoke and your MPG will drop right quick .... ask me how I know ... I have tons of power and I get 20 mpg on the freeway all the way to Idaho ..

also just as a side note .... these truck like clean waste oil in the fuel ... been running mine that way for about 4 years ... will be making my own build thread here soon a I have pics of how clean the engine is inside ... I was shocked .... everyone claims the it will carbon it up .... I have proof and witnesses that will tell ya other wise ... I run a 5 micron filter before my water seperator and after the mechanical pump ... works great ... and when it starts running funny ... change the filter ....

I run about 1 gallon of good clean ( minus the black color ) and dry oil ( no water or the such ) and then fill the tank .... seat of pants says its got more goose ..... will be testing on the dyno for sure ....

I'll normally try to it twice and then I'll give up, my buddy has the same year idi and hell give me a hand doing it! It's a pain, but I think 1 full turn is enough like you said.. I more into the power gain then the smoke! Haha

So are y'all suggesting one full rotation of the adjuster or just one flat of the wrench turn, meaning like a 1/16th of a full turn? Been waiting to get a pyro by my truck is definitly a dog with no legs as far as power. Now I know it won't keep up with my powerstroke with a hypermax tuner, but I've always felt my IDI should do a little better.

Just one flat on the Allen wrench itself

One full rotation of the adjustment screw is a no go!!

doesn't have to be at any particular spot I have found .... I have seen them in all different positions .... depending on the pump to gear timing ... or something else .... have someone turn it over .. pull the alt. and get a good mirror and you will find it , it's there I promise
