I have a 91 f250 with a 7.3 im looking for a turbo kit. Either a used banks, ats, hypermax or a stock setup from a 94 idi turbo diesel. Anyone got one for sale?

 

Try looking on Craigslist in your area for one. Banks is a great company who makes great turbos. They have the complete setup online for I think $2300

 

Ok tnx. How much of a difference would the banks turbo vs a stock turbo of a 94 idi be. I know I dont want to go over 15 lbs of boost.

 

I'm not too sure. If you get a used one it shouldn't be as much as the banks setup. 15lbs of boost is really all the idi's should be pushing and absolutely no more than that. I have a factory turbo IDI and I'm at 8-10 lbs

 

Got to powerstrokenation and fte and look in Thier classifieds. They all push aboit the same boost. And Mitsubishi make the banks turbos not banks. But a good used set up is from 500-700 and literally bolts on but you have to finish the exhuast from down pipe to the back. I'd plan on 1k for total build just in case you need some bits and pieces. My 6.9 with no gated banks make 11psi under load but only 2-6 just driving around.

 

yea the banks and the stock turbos can both make more boost than the engine can handel but the banks are a lil more free flowing my brother has a banks kit on his 91 idi and its very nice but it dont have any more boost than my stock 94 idi turbo

 

You can make ur own turbo its cheaper and u can have a better turbo, that's if you're mechanically enclined.
