lost temper .. now paying price... cut the supply and return line
Ok, So I lost my temper after much dirt had fallen in my eyes while trying to drop the rear tank to fix the plastic fuel pickup screener that I was sure had crumbled off the steel line inside the tank.
Long story short... I cut both lines thinking I could "easily" just install a coupler on each and be done with it. I tried the parts house nylon kit.. that part is easy ... but getting that coupler into the old line.... not gonna happen.. tried heating the old line gently first.. still no luck, the line pinches on itself.
I'm wanting to just run some 5/16 and 3/8 fuel hose with hose clamps from the cutover valve/switch to the rear tank and be done with it.
I don't see the supply being under high pressure at all cause of the lift pump upstream.
I don't see why the return side would not work either... I mean there is fuel hose between the injectors and they don't leak under pressure so my fuel hose near the tak shouldn't leak either .......... right ??
thoughts ?
