iam changing my injector pump and need to know if i need to set the motor timing and the pump timing? or can i set just my ip timing? and get away with it???????

 

turn the motor to cylinder 1 TDC compression stroke, line up the timing markes on the gears when you put the pump on. May have to time the pump a little bit, but make sure the static timing is right before you even think about cranking the engine over.
